Four miles upstream towards Niagara Falls is the Giant Whirlpool.
Another four miles upstream the Niagara Gorge ends at Niagara Falls.
The Niagara Power Station has opened a great addition to an already fantastic attraction. A glass enclosed elevator descends almost 200 feet down to the original penstock discharge tunnel and exits the underworld to a platform with beautiful views of Niagara Falls.

The Power Plant Ruins Site offers a free elevator ride down into the Niagara Gorge. You will be able to view the Niagara Gorge, Niagara River, Rainbow Bridge and the remains of what was once the most powerful hydroelectric plant in the world. The plant collapsed into the Niagara Gorge on June 7th 1956. If you have the time during your visit this is definitely worth checking out! Tha NY Parks has recently opened a fantastic new green space along the Niagara River and Gorge. You can walk hike or bike this beautiful new area all the way to Whirlpool Park.

This monument is in memory of General Brock who died in the battle of Queenston. There is a beautiful scenic vista overlooking the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. Queenston Heights is an important historic site for all Canadians. Plan to spend at least an hour with guides as they tell stories about that fateful October day in 1812.
Niagara Parks "Floral Clock" is maintained by Niagara Parks. No charge for entry. Stop and get that souvenir photo. Travel along the Niagara Parkway towards Niagara-on-the-Lake to visit the famous Floral Clock, located north of the Botanical Gardens. The intricate designs on the face of the Floral Clock are created with up to 16,000 plants and are changed twice each year.
Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens is beautifully maintained by the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. No charge for entry but there usually is a fee to park your car. Adjacent to the Butterfly Exhibit. Established in 1936, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens presents visitors with 99 acres (40 hectares) of beautifully maintained gardens including a world-famous rose garden featuring over 2,400 roses.
The Niagara Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls Canada is a great way to spend an hour discovering these beautiful little winged creatures. Located on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, visitors to the Butterfly Conservatory are transported to a tropical paradise full of lush vegetation, trickling waterfalls and thousands of vibrantly coloured butterflies.
Hike down the Niagara Gorge and view the Niagara River and giant whirlpool from Whirlpool State Park. Be sure to wear good footwear and plan on twenty minutes down and forty back up. Whirlpool State Park has two levels -- the street level has many scenic overlooks with spectacular views of the Whirlpool and rapids. There are picnic facilities and a playground. The river level offers hiking by taking the staircase located just downstream from the main park area.
The Whirlpool Aero Car in Niagara Falls Canada. The Whirlpool Aero Car has been soaring the Niagara Gorge since 1916. The antique cable car is suspended from six sturdy cables and offers spectacular views of the swirling Niagara Whirlpool and the Class 6 whitewater rapids of the Niagara River.
Visit the White Water Walk for an up close view of the Niagara river as it rages downstream. Take the elevator 70 meters down into the gorge, then walk through the 73 meter tunnel. The Boardwalk beside the rapids is 305 meters (1,000 feet) and stairs lead to two observation areas at the edge of the River.
