A must do event at least once, must not miss the feeling of being up close to the Falls and absorbing all of its amazing views. The thrill of getting wet by the mist or feeling the strong water currents while on the ferry are totally unforgettable. So much fun. Do remember to wear your water shoes, and bring a waterproof case for your cell phone. Forget about disembarking with dry hair. 😄 Just enjoy the moment of getting wet.

If you’re going to Niagara Falls, the Maid of the Mist isn’t just something to do—it’s something you have to experience.
I’ll be honest… I’ve seen it for years, even back when Jim Carrey stood on that very boat in Bruce Almighty. It always looked incredible—but nothing prepares you for what it feels like in real life.
From the moment the boat pulls away, you’re surrounded by the power of the falls. As you get closer, the sound alone gives you chills. And then comes the mist… not a light spray, but a full-on, soaking, refreshing rush that makes you feel like you’re standing inside the waterfall.
And a huge bonus—your ticket also gives you access to the observation deck, where you can take in the full panoramic views of the falls from above. It’s the perfect way to see everything from a different perspective before or after your ride.
It was a beautiful day when we went, which made the experience even more perfect—but honestly, I think it would be unforgettable in any weather. The ponchos help… but you will get wet, and you won’t even care.
Worth every single penny.
Not just for the views—but for the feeling. It’s one of those rare experiences that actually lives up to the hype and then exceeds it.
If you’re anywhere near Niagara Falls, don’t overthink it—just go. This is a true bucket list moment 💙🌊

If you have to choose just one activity, I highly recommend Maid of the Mist over Cave of the Winds. We tried both, and the Maid of the Mist was by far the better experience.

As the boat moves toward the Horseshoe Falls, the power of the water is incredible—you’re completely surrounded by mist, and waves crash over you from all directions. It’s an unforgettable, immersive experience.

I strongly suggest bringing water shoes or an extra pair to change into—you’ll definitely get soaked, and we were very glad we came prepared. Highly recommend!
